Hey, thanks for the response.

Hmm, These topics are good ones, I love God, and I will admit I love to study religions as well.

One of the points I like in your post was that you said to reply with my own thoughts and not just what someone else has said.

I am a firm believer that God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit through the death of his son Jesus on the cross. I beileve it is that Holy Spirit that reveals truths to men, not just other men revealing those truths to us.

At times I think many people in my own religion do not take the time to slow down to listen to Holy Spirit, they try to lean on their own understanding or the understanding of others. I feel when people begin to do that, they take God out of their religion. Hopefully it never fully comes to that.

I do believe God sent his son Jesus to die for my sins. I am not a theolgian, so this will probably not be very well stated.

I belive that Adam and Eve brought sin into the world, and God enabled reconciliation through Animal sacrifice, but man was still flawed. By sending his Son(which was God incarnate), and having the perfect sacrifice(sinless), this forced satan to release his hold on mankind, and gave us the opportunity for full reconciliation back to Christ.

More importantly than that mumbo jumbo... I believe that to be 'Saved' it only takes the ability to belive that I am a sinner(no matter how good I think I am, I will always fall short in God's eyes). So to bridge that Gap, saying that I belive that the Sacrifice of Jesus covers my sins, reconciles me back to God. So I am reconciled back, not based on anything I have done, but only on what Christ did.

But I try to keep an open mind.. I am not of the mindset that everyone is going to hell, and everyone has to believe like me. I think the Holy Spirit draws each individual in their own way.

God is a loving, caring and compassionate God, I may not always understand or agree with it, but He has never let me down in the past. So I trust him.

The biggest issue I have had in my life is trying to unlearn all the things I feel like I was brain washed with by the church, and just get to know God through Holy Spirit by reading His word on my own. And that is a daily journey, and each day I learn something new, that makes me realize I was wrong about past thoughts. I also believe that any truths in the bible should be confirmed outside the bible, which is a very touchy subject. But God is a powerful God, he is not trying to trick anyone into doing wrong.

I really try to keep an open mind, open to God and the Holy Spirit. There are times when I think many religious leaders do not want individuals to have the Holy Spirit work through them, they would rather control those people by telling them what they should think. That is so dangerous in my opinion, but I could be wrong. But I think it is a growing trend in Christianity.

As of today those are the things I believe :-).

It is great talking to you, you will be in my prayers, keep me in yours. Have a great day.
